Our student came second in Türkiye, in the Bilge Kunduz - International Informatics Computational Event

Eight students from our school qualified for the Bilge Kunduz Final stage, which was held online on May 4, 2025, across Türkiye.
Mira Küçükali from class 2A came second in Türkiye at the primary school 2nd-grade level with her successful result in the final exam.
We congratulate our student and our information technologies teacher Murat Özkan, who mentored her, and wish her continued success.
The Bilge Kunduz (Bebras) event, which first started in Lithuania in 2004, continues with the participation of thousands of students in 54 different countries.
Information about the Bilge Kunduz event is as follows:
Bilge Kunduz is an international event created with the aim of teaching computer science and computational thinking to students of all ages while raising awareness on this subject.
The event is carried out by volunteer academics at Ankara University.
Within the scope of this event, many countries organize an online event that tests students' skills related to informatics at the same time.
The short questions in the activity are called Bilge Kunduz tasks.
These tasks can be answered by people with no prior knowledge of informatics (computer science).
In order to solve these tasks, students need to review what they know, make calculations, make decisions, establish cause-and-effect relationships, and use higher-order thinking skills such as analytical thinking and problem-solving.
The Bilge Kunduz event aims to reach all people, not just young students.
In today's world where everyone has all kinds of technological devices, it is extremely important to raise people's awareness about informatics.
In addition to the effective use of technology, it should be the goal of those working in informatics to scientifically increase people's experience of technology.
“Sparking Stars” Team Dives Deep into the Ocean in Submerged Season.

Inspired by the oceans, in the 2024-2025 SUBMERGED℠ season, Science Heroes Meet / FIRST ® LEGO® League teams will use their innovative thinking skills and LEGO technologies to delve deeper into the problems faced by people exploring the oceans and develop innovative solutions to these problems.
YTU Schools “Sparking Stars” team came together every week to first examine the layers of the ocean and the creatures and habitats in them. They built and programmed autonomous submarines using the season exploration set. Afterwards, they developed a lego model of the “Pink Handfish” they discovered during their research. They continued their studies to ensure the reproduction and reproduction of endangered ocean creatures and to discover new sea creatures.
We also examined the ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle) vehicle developed by The “CASMarine: Unmanned Underwater Systems” team of the IEE Club in YTU. We also had an online interview with a team that participated in a tournament in a different city and listened to their experiences.
Our Sparking Stars team tried to explain their journey of discovery throughout the season in the posters they prepared. They explained both the team members and their work with visuals and information notes.
On Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the “Tiny Science Heroes Meet Explorer” Istanbul tournament, our team presented their lego model, “Tell Me” poster and bookmarks promoting their project to the jury members, their families and other teams. During the tournament, they participated in fun activities and examined the stands of other teams.
“Sparking Stars” team, which showed creativity in their “Tell Me” poster and clearly explained what they learned in the Tiny Science Heroes Meet team journey, was awarded the “Our Dreams and Ideas on Poster Award”.
We would like to congratulate our team members, our students and team coaches Emina Merve Arpacı and Murat Özkan, and our art teacher Eda Erdoğan for their contributions to the poster design and wish them continued success.
We Have Joined the “Little Citizens in Action” eTwinning Project!

Under the guidance of kindergarten teacher Ece Öztürk Coşgun, YTU Schools has joined the international eTwinning project titled “Little Citizens in Action.” The project was founded by Evangelia Koufou from Greece and Nazmiye Yıldırım from Türkiye, and is carried out in collaboration with 18 partner schools from Türkiye, Greece, Croatia, and Romania.
The aim of the project is to support the cognitive, emotional, and social development of children aged 4 to 6, while introducing them to the principles of active citizenship and encouraging a sense of responsibility toward nature. Within this scope, students participate in collaborative activities using digital tools and take part in nature-focused events such as recycling and tree-planting activities.
These project activities not only help students develop environmental awareness and social responsibility, but also contribute to the development of 21st-century skills.
We are delighted to be part of this meaningful project and extend our sincere thanks to all our project partners for their valuable contributions.
